The Compassion Road is dedicated to ensuring that all clinicians in the field of hospice care have the support they need to meet the needs of a diverse clientele.  So, to that end, we have developed a certification program for all professionals in the counseling field to better understand the unique needs of the GLBT community.  This three-day certification and on-going additional supervision will ensure that you are prepared to work with this often misunderstood and oppressed community.

In order to work effectively with diverse communities in our profession, a clinician must be able to show that you are culturally competent to serve the population you are serving.  With this three-day certification and ten hours of supervision, you will be better able to support and embrace the exciting aspects of this community.  Knowing how your bias and background impact your beliefs regarding certain cultural groups will ensure that you are more fully prepared to serve all people.
