“Our grief never tells us what is wrong with us; only what is right with us. It tells us that we love.” Alan Wolfelt
The way we approach grief counseling after the loss of a loved one is to celebrate a person’s capacity to love. In this loss journey, we will provide you with an opportunity to be witnessed in your grief and sorrow. A journey with loss has the potential to transform a person’s life. When we lose a person that we love, nothing is ever the same. Our world has crashed around us. We are here to help.
Reach out your hand and we will reach back with the open and loving arms of compassion. The way in which we provide our services is to offer these options:
a) Individual Counseling – We can offer individual counseling either at our office or in a person’s home if they are within the appropriate boundary. We provide all sessions for free (Normally, we start with a commitment of five sessions.), and an extension of these sessions will be based on decisions made by you and your therapist.
*We do ask for a donation to The Compassion Road for any services provided.
Family Counseling – Using a systemic approach, we offer grief counseling for the entire family to examine how your family system has changed based on the loss at hand. We will offer these services either at the office or in the home based on our counseling boundaries.
* We do ask for a donation to The Compassion Road for any services provided.
Group Counseling – We offer weekly groups two nights per week and one morning per week. Some groups are drop-in groups available to any person, and some groups are structured groups which are normally eight weeks in length. These groups provide a support mechanism for people at varying stages with their grief, including a newly bereaved group to an artistic expression grief group for people who have a loss over six months old.
